Mars is Back

Greg and I took this image of Mars on a very cold, clear night. It was 2:30am and -18 degrees Celsius. The polar cap is clearly visible and the dark albedo feature to the lower right is Syrtis Major.

Well that's pretty good but I got an email recently that said Mars would appear as big as the full moon at it's present distance. When I looked out the window it looked like a big floating pizza pie out there. I love the internet! Your picture is pretty decent though. John.
